Behind the Scenes : Ross Schnell : Relentless X0

A few months ago SRAM went to Colorado and hung out with Ross Schnell. We shadowed his every move. We rode bikes. We watched him eat a 5 course meal at a greasy diner. We even went to his physical therapy sessions. Ross is now 100 % healthy. Watch for him at the Trestle All-Mountain Enduro that he’s putting on this weekend to see who the best all-round rider in North America is… will it be Schnell? It’s not to late to register  Click here to check it out.

Take a peak inside super fast guy rad Ross' home life. Enjoy it. Share it.

We like Ross because he’s a regular dude that happens to rip. He also has an original Nintendo set up to his flat screen and a copy of the Chronic on vinyl. Winning.

Ross has a nicer espresso machine than your local coffee shop. Everything is all wired and piped into his wall. When you roast your own beans and pull 10 shots a day for yourself you kind of need the primo set up.

Ross’ roots run deep. Growing up he was a BMX superstar hence the old titanium BMX hanging from the ceiling. Ross showed us his signed number plates collection with autographs from Lopes and Carter from back in the day.

Everything has its place. Ross keeps his bench together neat and tidy and ready for any project. Some might say he’s has too much time, but it’s the precision, hard work and organization that got him to wear he is. Imagine the travel and the training (beer drinking)? You need a tight ship!

Do you live to work or work to live? Schnell has found a way to do both well.

Schnell was born and raised in the Frutia/Grand Junction area. He’s had no reason to ever stray far. Great trails, family and now he’s the proud owner of Over the Edge bike shop. The next time you tackle Ribbon trail and need some guidance or even a smile, cruise by.

It’s no coincidence that this town that embraces the mountain bike bred such a strong talent. A land mark that people make a yearly pilgrimage to…

Days of trail between the two spots, all I can say is time and time again you will love your bike, the moonscape and the corners. Here, he is mastering and shaping his hometown canvas.

The A in the SRAM A/V Team

The V. SRAM has the best looking, hardest working A/V team in the biz.

Sage's bummer tripod.

The only DVD Schnell has in his sweet-ass van is the 3 Amigos. If that isn’t a behind the scene moment and a real look into his character, I don’t know what is.

Waiting for the golden light.

Grand Junction Represent

Heya

Schnell may bag on the regimented XC racer life but the dude proves he can hang just fine.

BMX skills at play here. Put his home town on your bucket list. Pull up and get out for a trip in the fall and you won’t be disappointed. Moab, Frutia and Grand Junction will blow your mind.

Schnell in German means fast.

Taking it all in

Golden light has left us. The day is done

Capturing these moments is all about the waiting game.
