Build up...and cool down!

In the post-Sea Otter video storm, two clips really standout. Two different themes, different atmospheres, but absolutely the same messagge: in the end, we are all about bikes. And giving you the best experience possible.

In this first video our euro video guy Martin Hanisch continues the 2X10 video saga we started at the XX Maremma Cup back in march with the usual visual goodness: interviews with the best riders in the world, some cool action and great insight for thos guys who actually design the stuff that goes on your bikes.

In this second video Northern California based Taylor Sage takes you to a completely different atmosphere and vibe: pro downhiller Brendan Fairclough enjoys an XC ride on the Santa Cruz trails along with fellow Specialized rider Curtis Keene, just a couple of days after Sea Otter.

So whether it is in the hustle&bustle of one of the year's biggest events, or down at the local trails with a couple of friends, our guys are there to show you why 2X10 just works best! Enjoy!

Mick's sick whip

We were able to sneak in the team GT pits and get a behind the scenes look at Mick Hanna's 2010 race rig, as it was being prepared for the first race of the season. Note that Mick will run 10-spd X0 gearing and the Vivid Air as a standard setup!

It's a wrap, with a bang!

The 2010 Sea Otter Classic powered by SRAM is done and dusted, leaving us with a nice 4-day California tan and some crazy travelling for the euro guys and the race support crew headed to the first World Cup in Dalby Forest, UK.
XX won once again in the men's elite XC event on sunday, with U23 World Champion Burry Stander taking the win. Good job Burry, let's keep XX number 1 throughout the season!

But Sea Otter is much more than just professional level racing...our truck crew, empowered by many additional tech wrenches, worked non stop over the 4 days of the event to provide technical support to the 50.000 bike enthusiast in attendance. Everyone from World Champions to young kids pumped for their first dual slalom race got the same level of care and attention: each of those red tags equals to the happy owner of a freshly serviced SRAM, RockShox, Avid or Truvativ product!

New X0, 3 days old and winning!

Quick update from Sea Otter: Mick Hannah of Team GT just won the PRO Dual Slalom after some incredibly tight racing action, taking the first win for the new Avid X0 brakes just three days after their launch! Good job Mick! FYI, Mick will be rolling the new X0 10-speed derailleur tomorrow in the downhill race!

2X10: the family is complete!

The smart guys amongst you got it right, after bringing you XX in 2009, the first 2X10 MTB groupset, and taking 2X10 to X7 last march, this thursday at Sea Otter we unveiled the SRAM X0 and X9 2X10 product families.
Such a big announcement deserved an equally big event so we decided to throw a pretty cool beach party, which was best described by one british editor as "part Formula 1, part party in a bike shop". Beautiful umbrella girls, sweet bikes decked out with the new products, bonfires on the beach and a live band were some of the highlights of the evening. It was nice to see so many people hanging out with us, the whole who's who of mountain biking was there!

Steve Peat won his 2009 World Championship title on a Blackbox 10-speed setup. He's stoked to see 2X10 coming to the full range of SRAM drivetrains, and so should you!
Everyone had a blast and the party went on and on and on...you get the idea. To get a better idea on how sweet it was check out this video:

Road to Sea Otter

Day 2

Green River CO to Tehachapi CA

Great driving weather, right up until we hit a major rain storm!

Reminds me of the Road Runner cartoons.

Evan had spotted a cougar and was determined to run it down.

Exhausted fom his cougar hunt, Evan needed a nap
He was talking in his sleep mainly short phrases like
 don't run cougar...no, dont, stop...get some
He really wanted that cougar!

NICE!

Nevada rocks! Rows and rows of fireworks got this one off
right before I was asked to quit taking photos.

Matt Opperman
Getting frostbite.

Time for bed! (No pun intended)

Road to Sea Otter

We set sail for the always warm and sunny Monterey Peninsula this afternoon.

Home of The Sea Otter Classic.

It wasn't looking so good on Wednesday!

Once the weather cleared up...

it was time to get busy.

We ran into some dude named Ross in Fruita.

He had flatted and needed a little help.

We didn't really have anything in his size.

He kept snooping around the trailer,
looking for his bike or something.

OK, so maybe we have your bike.
Whats the big deal?

Coolest decal ever!
