Made it to Bromont

To recap the weekend, Julien Absalon won again, Sam got his first win and took the points lead, Anneke Beerten won and also took the 4x points lead, Willow Koerber pulled an amazing 5th and now I think she's 7th in the XC World Cup. Cha Cha (My Dog) and Evan Warner (Palm's Mech) both had a great time at their first World Cup. Palmer qualified and raced his first WC in ten years. I heard he's the oldest to ever qualify but that's not confirmed. We had a super dumb "Edward 40 Cross Hands" contest before the 4X that ended up being pretty entertaining. We had nine competitors and first one to finish the two giant beers "Duct Taped" to your hands won. Karl Burkat from Pinkbike was first to finish followed by Rob McNaughton from Black Pheonix Films and then me. Taylor Sage was dead last, super weak. Work was done, nobody drove, and no one "blew it" accept for the Syndicates Kathy Sessler who also beat Sage.

So we made it to Bromont today, going to Montreal tomorrow for some R&R and then setting up on Wednesday AM. I'll report in on the trip tomorrow. JD

MSA World Cup Update

It's DH Day! Riders just finished their practice run. Weather is cloudy and cold but the rain is holding for now. The course is super slick so it looks like cut spikes for today. Sam killed it on the qualifier by 8 seconds, Peaty put a solid rund together and took second. Minnaar had a front flat but because he's top twenty he's in the big show. Palmer had a conservative run and placed 76th. Fairclaugh hit a photographer and still placed an amazing 8th. It's going to be an bad ass day of racing, I'll send out results ASAP. JD

Nats XC Champs

Here's our new US National Champs, both on 29rs and XX with Noir single rings up front. Congrats to Heather and Jeremy and the Subaru Gary Fisher Team on a great day!

Nats Day 3 again

JHK for Subaru Gary Fisher is our new XC National Champ!

Nats Day 3

This place is a slaughter house, carnage everywhere, not one round wheel within 100 miles. Running out of places to bury the dead. We're killing the wounded because there's no hospital beds left. Just kidding this place ain't as bad as it sounded in an earlier post. This is the best US nats in 10 years, not joking. The Sol Vista crew has done an amazing job and brought back kick ass racing to the good old USA. More news to come after Mtn cross.

Todd Wells and JHK are battling alone with one lap to go.

Heather Imager is our new XC national champ!

Nats Day 2

Today was a busy day at the 10x20, lots of work and not exactly the best working environment. Without HB's RV we'd be in a world of hurt. Practice went well for Palmer, his bike is dialed for the course he's hauling ass, HB watched from the lift and said he's flying. Hopefully he'll keep it up and do well on Sunday. SGF had a awsome BBQ that we all went to, pulled pork was amazing. More to come tomorrow, it's XC race day and I'll try to get results out quick. Time to go to bed. JD

Nats day 2

Sorry no pictures of the event because my sweet AA's died in the cannon so here's a shot of the dog you wish you had.

Today went well accept for the big giant huge jumps at the bottom of the Pro Dh course that jacked Voreis's foot, Eric Carter said I'll race the super D instead, and scary for the pro's that should be semi pro's. There's a double with a 50 foot gap and the wind sometimes decides where you land. Palmer had a close one that scared the crap out of him but he pulled up at the last second and made it. I heard that if your feeling that your going way to fast into the jump you'll still barely make it.....scarey. This has been edited from the original because I can.

XC is straight up and straight down so all the contenders are trying to decide between fully's and hardtails.

I'll have bats tomorrow so expect some great shots. Our hot tub is amazing! JD

At the Nats

After a big day getting the trailer ready for the month long trip to Canada, we picked up Palmer at the Denver airport and headed up to Sol Vista for the National MTB Champs. Evan (Palms Mech) is cooking up a delicious 951 in the kitchen and Palmer is checking out his new threads. First day of practice is tomorrow, more to come.....

2009 Downieville All Mountain XC Today

Hello Everyone from the D-Ville Classic. This morning was the XC stage of the All-Mountain event. Riders have three hours to finish a grueling 29 mile course with over 4000 feet of climbing. Unless your going for the overall it's all about damage control, you want to have fresh legs for Sunday mornings downhill. HB, Ross, Myles, Willow, Sid, and Nathan were all feeling powered up and ready to go! Here are some pictures of the gang, I'll have a video up in about an hour of the start.

Bye for now,

JD

Hello from The Downieville Classic

Hello from the Downieville Classic, we're setup and getting the bikes ready for todays schuttles. Ross Schnell, HB, Myles, Willow, Nathan Riddle all did two runs yesterday and loved it! Should be a great race, weather is perfect, the river is flowing, and the atmosphere is way laid back. Tomorrow is the grueling XC race then the DH main event is Sunday. Great times! More to come soon.....
